Tallest Towers and Skyscrapers

The Petronas Twin Towers became the world tallest in 1998 and this title was overrtaken by Taipei 101 in year 2004. Everthough it is no longer the tallest building in the world, it will still be the tallest twin tower in the world. I remembered during the design stage of this building, Mr Cesar Pelli highlighted to the Prime Minister (PM)Tun Mahathir at that time that the building is short of a few metres from the Sears Towers which was at that time the world tallest and the PM responded what it takes to be the tallest. The architect had to go back to the drawing board and redesign the pinnacle as what it is now. The pinnacle itself standing 73.5 metres from Level 88, the highest level in the building. My involvement in the construction and management of Tower 2 has made me proud of myself. These are some of the interesting websites I have gathered here about the fact and also the evolution of the skyscrapers of the world.
