Museum of Islamic Art, Doha Qatar

It is a blessing that there was a power breakdown in the office today that we have been released early. Initially, I wanted to go to the Car Wash but since it was early because it will only open at 3.00 pm, I decided to go to the Museum of Islamic Art near Corniche hopefully it will be done in an hour.

My first look at the architecture of the building, I find it too simple but when I get closer I find it very fascinating and exciting especially to the detailings. I must salute the Architect I. M Pei. He really had done a good job and his detailing were incredible. I remembered going to the another museum in Washington which was also design by him.

The admission is free, open Wednesday to Monday 10:30 - 17:30 (Friday 14:00 - 20:00). Closed on Tuesday. It is also closed on first day of Eid and Chirstmas. You can contact the museum at

No video cameras are allowed but cameras are allowed and you can take pictures inside the building.

So what supposed to be one hour visit ended up to be 2 and half hours. I really enjoy it and recommend you to go.

For those in Malaysia, here are the glimpse of the artifact in the museum for your viewing...
