Aga Khan Award

Hai tak habis2 cakap fasal Aga Khan award. Tadi tengah hari sibuk dok entertain receipient of the Aga Khan award who visited the towers. Tapi masa tu tak tau siapa mereka. I thought they are some of the people attending the function tapi rupa nya mereka tu penerima anugerah.

The function was held at PETRONAS Philharmonic Hall.Being in there reminds me of the days of my involvement on the project. I was involved briefly on the design coordination issue of the hall and also managed to visit the factory of the pipe organ in Germany. It was the first pipe organ in Malaysia and it was interesting to see how pipe organ was constructed. A detailed and delicate process. It was another building design by Cesar Pelli.


Another surprises I had for the night was the project I was involved with previously namely the PETRONAS Twin Towers and Univeriti Teknologi PETRONAS both won the Aga Khan Award in 2004 and 2007 respectively. This year out of 394 nominee, 27 were shortlisted and only 9 receive the awards.

I remembered the late Tan Sri Azizan who mooted the project once asked, "What it takes to win a Aga Khan Award". Now his dream has came a reality... I strongly believe in the power of dream... So don't waste your time continue have big dream and set high goal to reach your dream. Insyallah if you strongly believe you will achieve it....You will achieve it one day... The only thing is you have to do is have clear objective, stay focus and be positive.

Tonight was a very inspiring night for me to see the effort we had so far is being rewarded. I am glad to be part of the project team to make the vision into a reality. I am also glad to know Lord Foster in the function and had some pictures taken with him and his wife....

This memorable date will be captured in my diary and the nation has also captured it by launching the first Day Cover and stamps for the occasion..

Invitation to Aga Khan Award

I am honoured to be invited to attend the prestigious Agra Khan Award tomorrow at the Philharmonic Hall. This is an architectural award design by Fosters and Partners for the University Technology PETRONAS. And again I am only involved in the masterplan of the project and the construction of Canselor complex. It was an exciting and interesting experience to be involved in a project designed by renowned architect like Fosters and Partners.

Tak dapat award dapat jemputan untuk hadirkan diri ke majlis tu pun dah cukup alhamdulillah... So how do find my Canselor Kompleks.. Kalau senang tu pergi la ke Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS untuk menyaksikan sendiri salah satu senibena yang mengkagumkan di Malaysia.

A Weekend Break in Bangkok

Well Everyone is waiting for the opportunity to have a good weekend. We have ours last weekend and this time around is the trip to Bangkok. I managed to redeem my enrich points and we got it free for me and my wife. Unfortunately the airport tax alone is RM370 each. We stayed at a decent hotel which cost us RM100 per nite and the hotel's location is right in the middle of Middle eastern people i.e. arab. Cam kat Timur tengah lak. So we have no problem with the food and the mosque is right opposite of our hotel.

The first day, we went around KL riding on Tuk Tuk. Tergoda sampai tempah 3 suits and increase my ring collections. It is a lovely blue topaz. We also went to a night market. Hai going shopping u really have to decide what to buy. The next day we went to chak chu chak market, it was so huge and lost of varieties. Mabuk tengok pokok bunga, bought some heliconia, water lilies and artifical orchid for office decoration.

Well sediakan duit aje la bila nak ke sini... All in all it was an interesting trip. Met a few celbrities, Eric Leong of Casa Impian and Suhaimi Baba, film director.

So this week my destination will be to Tioman. Hope fully lepas raya nak gi Negeri Di Bawah Bayu... Teringin sangat ke sana... Ingin ke dasar laut nya dan ke puncak gunungnya.. Ingat lepas ni buat satu lagi persatuan la... Persatuan Melancong.. Ade sape nak join... Oklah ini la sedikit coretan dari saya... Nantikan saya di episod akan datang...
